Old conservatories are constructed very differently from one project to the next, so only select components may have been tested. Solid roofs must be classified as AC, AB or AA in accordance with BS476-3.

If you are replacing a roof on an existing conservatory, planning permission won’t be needed, but Building Regulations Control is necessary, and this is something you need evidence of when selling your property. We can advise you on this.

It is extremely important to have Building Regulations Approval from your local authority because it is evidence that the roof has been fully inspected by a government approved building control officer. They will check everything has been installed to the correct standard and is thermally efficiently and structurally sound.
